Our Approach To Counseling

In counseling we believe that positive change occurs when you have the best fit between your therapist and yourself. It is therefore important to understand each of our therapist’s approach to treatment. We believe that everyone is at a different level of readiness to change. We tailor our specific approach to your needs at the time; whether that is for a radical change or simply to explore options in your life. What you would like to get from therapy sets the tone for what we do.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION

The length of treatment will vary depending on need. You may, at any time, refuse treatment, request a change in treatment approach, or request a referral to another therapist. Sessions are 45–55 minutes (insurance dependent). It is typical to see a therapist once a week for a few months, but this is entirely up to you. In your first session, we will talk about the possible issues and their solutions. Your therapist will give you an estimation of the amount of time treatment for a particular issue generally takes.

Fees differ based on the type of service (testing verses individual or couples coupling) and your therapists experience and credentials. However, costs from Timothy included: the initial assessment at $200 and $175 for subsequent sessions. Consults are offered for those that want to meet with the therapist before agreeing to anything. These involve no commitment and no charge. If you decide to become a client, your consult will be billed at the rate of a regular session or half the rate, depending on the length of the session. Telephone calls lasting more than 5 minutes are billed at a pro-rated basis in 15 minute increments ($15/15 minutes). Sessions missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be billed to the client. Exceptions are made for illness or emergencies. It’s important to note that insurance does not cover missed sessions.

Fees for Amanda are $240 an hour for private pay. She offers free consults and accepts some insurances.

Payment needs to be made at the time of service. If you are using insurance, find out what your co-pay is and if you have an annual deductible.
